Son of Man Someday Vermouth is made in partnership with Someday Bar in Portland, Oregon. For this limited release vermouth we started with an extra special cider made with Asturian cider apples grown in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. To fortify the vermouth we distilled Basajaun into a delicious brandy. We took a portion of the brandy and distilled it a second time with grains of paradise to create huge aromas of ginger, spice and tropical flowers. We tossed in some cardamom, turmeric, chamomile and dried lemon peel to round out the flavors of sunshine and rejuvenation. It’s time to dig the lawn chair out of the garage, zinc up your nose, and enjoy a glass because it’s 5 p.m. somewhere.

Sagardo means “cider” in Euskara, the Basque language. Sagardo (pronounced suh-gar-doe) is our flagship. It’s our Pacific Northwest homage to the ciders we love so much from Basque Country. It’s our only cider fermented and aged in giant oak foeders. Bright, balanced, bad ass. The way you always wanted cider to taste. Fermented spontaneously. No added sulfites. This vintage has delicious notes of banana, papaya, clove & orange peel. The pour top cork adds theater to the meal, allowing you to long pour from higher heights. Sagardo’s unique blend includes 25% Marie Menard 25% Jonathan 20% Cox’s Orange Pinnin 20% Domaines and 10% Champagne Reinette.

Handi means “big” in Euskara, the Basque language. Handi (pronounced han-dee) is rich and full. Big portions of bittersweet, tannic apples make it taste as golden as its color. Fermented spontaneously, then aged for 6 months exclusively in stainless steel. No added sulfites. This vintage has full notes of cantaloupe and leather. Handi’s unique blend includes 30% Cox’s Orange Pippin, 21% Marie Menard, 21% Domaines, 14% Ashmead’s Kernel, 14% Frequin Rouge.

Beti means "always" in Euskara, the Basque language. Beti (pronounced bet-ee) is your always-in-the-fridge cider. It tastes dry, bright, and fresh like a summer day on the river. Fermented spontaneously, then aged for 6 months exclusively in stainless steel. No added sulfites. This vintage has crushable notes of green banana peel and lemon. Beti’s unique blend includes 30% Gravenstein, 15% Karmijn de Sonnaville, 15% Newtown Pippin, 20% Domaines, 10% Muscadet de Dieppe, and 10% Muscadet de Lense.

Txiki means “little” in Euskara, the Basque language. Txiki (pronounced chee-kee) blends just two little apple varieties, but it’s big on flavor. Prepare for super tart with complexity. Fermented spontaneously, then aged for 6 months exclusively in stainless steel. No added sulfites. This vintage has notes of lime and coriander seed. Txiki’s unique blend includes 50% Columbia Crabapple and 50% Muscadet de Dieppe.

Basajaun is our Special Project cider. Basajaun translates to “Lord of the Woods” in Euskara, the Basque language, and references a Sasquatch-like, forest dwelling wild man from Basque folklore. Inspired by this free roaming wild man, Basajaun is an annual exploration of new flavors. This year’s Basajaun explores the unique flavors of high-altitude apples grown on volcanic soils at a single orchard in Parkdale, Oregon.
